About us

Back in August 1995 Moya Kingston and a good friend Louise Van Der Wees realised there was a real need for a cat rescue group in Hellesdon, and so, with a small group of like-minded people Woodland Cat Rescue was formed.

For the first 6 years we rescued and re-homed cats and kittens very successfully (over 800 of them in fact), but early in 2001 we realised that there was a real need for somewhere for older and less easily re-homeable cats to be looked after long term.

After a lot of thought we decided that, here at Woodland, we were ideally situated to do just that by taking in long term 'residents'. By so doing, we could take some of the pressure off other rescue groups who have difficulty finding homes for the 'unwanted' ones.

Although Louise now lives in Spain Moya runs Woodland Cat Rescue with the help of her good friends Julie, Jo and Peter, and Pearl and Keith.
